SECTOR · ADULT SOCIAL CARE

Wellbeing training built for the sector that needs it most.

Specialist workplace training for CQC-regulated care providers. Designed by someone who understands the sector, not someone who'll learn it on the job.

THE PROBLEM

You don't need another paragraph about how hard the sector is. You already know.

You know about the turnover. You know about the staff who go off sick and don't come back. You know what the CQC “Well-led” key question looks like in practice — and you know that ticking the wellbeing training box for the inspection isn't the same as having a team that's actually well.

The gap between “we provided training” and “our managers can handle what this work throws at them” is exactly what The Resilience Room is built to close.

WHY MOST WELLBEING TRAINING DOESN'T WORK FOR CARE

The dominant providers weren't built for this work.

The dominant providers in workplace mental health training built their offers for the broad corporate market. The translations to social care tend to be thin — awareness-level content, often delivered remotely, to staff who don't have time for it and don't trust that the people running it understand what their work actually involves.

We start with what care work actually involves.

Grief, end-of-life conversations, family complexity, and emotional load that doesn't switch off at the end of a shift.

We deliver in person, in small groups.

Because behaviour change doesn't happen on a webinar.

We build manager capability, not awareness.

Your managers are your wellbeing system. Equip them properly and the rest follows.

WHAT WE OFFER THE SECTOR

Training built for the people doing the hardest jobs.

Loss & Grief training

The most-requested programme for care providers. End-of-life work, family bereavement, and the cumulative grief that builds in the workforce itself.

HOW A TYPICAL ENGAGEMENT WORKS

Four steps, no surprises.

Discovery call

30 minutes. We understand your structure, your pressures, and what you've tried before.

Proposal

Specific recommendations, prices, and dates within a week.

Pilot workshop

One programme, delivered at one site or with one management cohort.

Review and expand

If the pilot lands (it usually does), we discuss rollout and whether a retainer makes sense.

We don't sell multi-year frameworks before we've proved we can deliver. The pilot is how trust gets built.

WHO DELIVERS YOUR TRAINING?

A qualified, clinically-trained practitioner. Not a trainer who read the slides.

Our training is delivered by Steve Pointon BSc (Hons) MBACP, a qualified counsellor who has spent his career working with people facing grief, illness, and serious psychological pressure — including years of practice in the care sector.

Before his counselling career, Steve worked as a senior manager in care — responsible for teams of over 200 people and a client portfolio of more than £4 million. He knows this environment from the inside.

This isn't bought-in facilitation. The person who designed the training is the person in the room — which means the depth you see described on this website is the depth you get on the day.

Every session is delivered live, in person, in small groups. No associates. No remote substitutes.

Worth a 30-minute conversation?

If you're a registered manager, owner-operator, or part of a multi-site group's senior team — the discovery call is the place to start. No prep needed, no sales pitch.
